Easy to use. Good heater. I used distilled water to clean the first few times on carb parts and other various small metal things. Things that I could never clean by hand. They turned out new looking and shiney. This thing has to be amazing at cleaning small gun parts. Saves a lot of cleaning time. The old way was to throw it all in a bucket of diesel and let it sit awhile then hose it off lol. This is much more easy and effective. All stainless steel unit. Well built. Had a small issue with the first one, and after contacting the seller, he promptly shipped me a new unit that is working great. Now the fun part...putting all those ultra clean small metal pieces back where the where they belong lol.So this is what a sonic cleaner should be. It has a metal basket with rubber feet, not some cheap plastic one. It has temp control that you can use or not if you don't need it. You can easily set the run time of the clean cycle as low as 1 minute or as long as ..... you know I am not even sure but it will go well over 20. The lid is a nice metal sheet form fitted that sits snug with an easy to grab handle, the base has 4 very good height rubber feet that are firmly attached, and the sides hand hand grips to make it easy to dumb dirty fluid. There is not much else to say here. If you need a real sonic cleaner for more than your eye glasses this will get the job done and then some. I got lucky and got it at steep discount, but having used it I can tell you it is worth the MSRP. I used to use a cheaper 40 dollar sonic cleaner, didn't even last 2 years, often needed multiple clean cycles, feet were only glued on and would fall off, compared to this tool it was a piece of junk.Don't be afraid to spend 2 times more or maybe a little more here, you will get more than 4 times the cleaner.Only con.... it can run pretty loud at least compared to other sonic cleaners I have used. It isn't bad in my opinion, but just know if you have used one before this one may be a little noisier. My decibel meter clocks it around 70-75db, but that is literally within inches of it.Used to clean a boat motor carburetor. Tried to clean the carb manually with carb cleaner, brushes and air two times without success. After using the ultrasonic the motor ran like new.Received the ultrasonic cleaner today and tried it right away with the cylinder of my S&W 642. If you have a stainless revolver you know how fun it is to remove the carbon rings. Three pictures are the dirty cylinder, after cleaning for 20 minutes at 40 degrees and after an additional 30 minutes at 50 degrees. Filled the tank with distilled water and placed the cylinder in a Ziploc bag with distilled water and some Simple Green pro HD. I only wiped with a shop towel after each run. Very pleased with the results!!!!Oh, and at least the one I got is NOT that loud. I can stay a few feet away with no problem. This ultrasonic cleaner is performing just as I had hoped. My primary use for it is to clean my bike parts, chain, cassette, jockey wheels, and so on. And what a difference it makes. Fifteen minutes is all it takes to get all that hidden crap out of the rollers and links. It seems like the chain stays cleaner longer too. Truth be told, it may have gotten the jockey wheels too clean. I started hearing a squeak one day coming from somewhere on my bike when I shifted through certain gears. I traced it to the guide pulley. I had to add a little bit of Tri-Flow to lube the covers. I guess in the past, when I cleaned them by hand, I wasn't doing a very thorough job, but at least there was enough goop on there so they weren't completely dry. But, I've also used it to clean my glasses, rings, and stuff like that and again it does a terrific job with little more effort than just setting the time and letting it run. Many of my wife's jewelry is a pass down, so 50 or more years old. After 10 minutes, with a little jewelry cleaner in the solution, the results were gratifying. The tank showed the crud from 50 years. This cleaner works very well, came fully assembled, in a sturdy box with no damage. While the instructions sure left something to be desired, it was very easy to figure out what to do and how to get it working. The cleaner is loud when activated, and I recommend you keep it isolated from occupied areas, especially if you have this in your home.To save on cleaning fluids, I filled the cleaner with water as instructed, but I place the items I want to clean inside a plastic jar with a mix of cleaning solution to cover the items. Place the jar in the water reservoir, and turn it on for the desired time.Doing it this way prevents the entire cleaning solution from becoming contaminated, saves on the solution, and anytime I want to clean the reservoir, its only water that I need to replace. The description says 2 litre and capacity listed of 5.9" x 5.5" x 3.9" is 126.55 cubic inches which works out to 2.07 litres. When I took it out of the box the cleaner looked small. So I filled it with water and then measured the water volume. 6 cups or 1.4 litres if filled right to the top. If you fill it to the full line the capacity is 1.2 litres. The dimensions stated are measured at the top. The walls taper toward the bottom, eliminating 0.6 of a litre capacity. This should be advertised as a 1.2 litre Ultrasonic cleaner. The lid does not fit with parts basket installed, causing the lid to rattle and liquid to slow in its heating.Other than the capacity, the unit looks like it was well constructed. I plugged it in and it is surprisingly quiet. The control buttons are easy to understand.Unfortunately due to the size not being as described I had to return this item.I've had the product since July. Last week turned it on and it went bang. Contacted Zelus who replied within a day.Asked me to send photos which I did. They replied could I take the bottom off and picture internals which I did. They offered to send circuit board out to fit myself. I was worried that would effect the warranty and asked for a refund which they did immediately.I would use them again purely on their customer service but perhaps not on the actual product.Does the job, slightly smaller interior than I was looking for.Works great so far. It does not appear to have Canadian electrical safety approvals though (cUL, CSA etc.), be aware of this.I just finished measuring (twice) the capacity and it's about 1.7L and not 2L as specified. Add to that the fact that the instructions says to never fill it to more than 3/4 and that leaves you with about 1.25L worth of liquid space. Add an object inside that is about as big as your fist and you're at about the limit of what the device can handle, more than that it won't have enough liquid to surround your object and be at 3/4 level. Dissapointed.
