I purchased this because I always heard for other aquatic keepers that this is a must have for fish that are picky eaters or when you need to give your fish medicine.Basically you just take your fish food (pellets, fresh tilapia…. Etc) and soak it in garlic guard. Let it sit for a while or sit in the refrigerator. Or you can use garlic guard to disguise the medicine that you need for your fish to take. Kind of like when you have to give kids/babies medicine and you mix the medicine in apple sauce or yogurt it’s the same thing.I have some picky African Cichlids. So I soaked their pellets in garlic guard and let’s just say they ate as if I’ve never fed them. I’ll be purchasing again for sureGarlic Guard is a great tool to use for finicky fish eaters. Pour a capful of Garlic Guard into a container then add your normal fish food (pellets/Flakes/Frozen brine, worms, etc). Let the flakes/pellets or whatever you normally feed your fish soak up the Garlic liquid for about 5 -10 minutes. Then feed to your fish. I use this stuff almost daily. Garlic has health benefits as well for your fish.I add this when I’m mixing meds in my fish food and they love it. Smells very strongly.Who knew this would make ALL the difference in the world for my African cichlids fish! My son gifted me ten fish and they just wouldn’t eat the pellets I bought no matter which brand so tried. He suggested I get this and woah- no matter what I put in the tank they gobble it up as long as I soak the pellets in garlic guard first! While it may be a little smelly to some ( I happen to love the smell of garlic) the odor disappears quickly just leaving some fishies chowing down on whatever you soaked in this liquid! I even soak their blanched veggies in some- to make sure they don’t waste any food I give them. So far I have happy fish thanks to this! Garlic guard for the win!!!Good product helps with picky eaters but bottle arrived leaking. The seal had a hole.Look my fish were never picky eater except for one case he’s so small but damned if he doesn’t muscle is way in to devour as much as he can now! Which means he’s eating so much more and better due to this and other supplementsFish goes crazy over it by adding to dry foodsPut a splash of this with any fish food and the fish will go for it. Was struggling to get my MBU puffer to eat cockles, with no shell as he’s still a bit small, wouldn’t even touch it, kept to snails, brine shrimp and bloodworms, when I soaked it in this stuff he has actually started to nibble at it, so it does work. Not to sure about health wise but definitely attracts the fish to eat. Plus it’s SeaChem so no issues with quality.Bought for the ease of use compared with preparing my own garlic liquid from bulbs.Pros...-- Enhance fish immune system-- Protects fish from internal parasites-- Kills ick or ich or white spot-- Increase fish appetite-- Increase fish longevity-- The benefits are endless highly recommend.Cons...There is only 1 it absolutely stinks of garlic.Fancy claims, fancy bottle.I have used this for a bit now and can’t tell you it works with picky eaters, that it is a nutritional benefit, or that it helps fish fight off Ich or parasites like flukes. To many other factors like water quality or tank mates etc.My fish eat the same offerings with or without this product... I wouldn’t buy it again because I have seen no obvious benefit.Reasonably priced and it does seem to improve health and appetite in marine fish. They say soak fish food in this liquid but I sprinkle it on to cubes of frozen fish food before putting the food back in the freezer. When its time to feed the fish I put a cube of frozen food into one of those perforated plastic fish feeder devices and the fish crowd around eating the food as it slowly thaws and filters out of the small holes in the feeder. The fish love it, really helpful if you have any fish not feeding as they will lap this stuff up, great to add when introducing new fish so they start eating straight away. Just mix it in with some defrosted frozen food. Highly recommend.
